This is my most favorite time of year! I think I’ve said that about 100 times already this season, but I just absolutely adore it. I’m so happy that my excitement and holiday spirit has been passed on to my kids. They love it just as much as I do, and enjoy every activity we can come up with to do!
From ice skating and light gazing to cookie making and Christmas movies, we pack our holiday season in good and full! The kids have been loving the older Christmas movies this year, and its been so fun showing them a new one every few days. To see them laugh at movies that I watched as a kid is just so wondrous! There is nothing like Christmas through the eyes of little ones…
Their love for Polar Express runs deep though. They ask to watch that movie several times a day. I was out running errands with one of my kids the other day and when he saw the book in a store, he lit right up! You betcha we brought that right home and have read it 25 times since. (They even think the little bell will be under the tree on Christmas!)
That wonderful movie has encouraged my boys to consume even more hot chocolate than they already did. Almost every afternoon since thanksgiving, the boys and I have cuddled up on the couch (or in bed!), with the Christmas lights twinkling, and either plowed through Christmas stories or watched a new holiday movie, with a big ol’ cup of hot chocolate in hand.
International Delight has made it easier than ever, just pour it in a mug and heat her up! My favorite is to pop in a candy cane for cute décor and a minty hot cocoa flavor! My kids love it, they call it ‘chocolate bar cocoa’, probably because it’s perfectly thick and rich, and so smooth.
It’s one of my favorite parts of the day, to just sit and relax with my kids, some peppermint hot chocolate, and Christmas music in the background. So whether you’re going to walk along and check out all the Christmas lights, or curl up watching movies, there is nothing better than a steaming mug of hot cocoa to go along with it this holiday season!
