Ahhh! I can’t believe my BABY is ONE and we’ve already celebrated his first birthday! Quickest year of my life..so cliche to say, but it truly was. I feel like with each kid, times just goes by faster and faster, its wild! This year has been so much fun, this sweet boy brought something extra to our family that I didn’t even know we needed and I’m so grateful every day for him! for all my babies!
We threw a little last minute birthday party for him, shortly after we got back from our month long vacation in Maine! It was thrown together quickly, but we had all of our closest friends there to celebrate with us, so it was totally perfect!
The theme was ‘Was Where the Wild Things Are’ for our “wild ONE!” It’s also my most favorite children’s book! It was seriously fun to put this together and I loved how sweet he looked all day in his crown! I added the details and linked to what I could on the bottom of this post, however, because I only had five days to plan this thing, most everything was DIY, but if you have the time, browse Etsy, because there are so many cute items you can just purchase!
So without further ado, here is our sweet boys first birthday! (prepare for photo overload!)
Decorations:
Greenery, moss, ‘Happy Birthday’ balloon banner: bought at Hobby Lobby
Signs & cupcake toppers: I printed myself (let me know if you’re interested and I can upload the pdf to make it available for download)
Gold Crowns for the kids: purchased HERE (we had these setup on a table with the actual book so when all the kids came in they could have a crown too, it was real cute!
Burlap ‘ONE’ banner & ‘one wild year’ banner: DIY
‘Wild Things’ Tshirts: DIY (I bought the shirts at old navy, purchased transfer paper, designed them myself on the computer, printed them and ironed them on, super easy!)
Cupcake stand: Hobby Lobby
Food: I made sure I had options for both kids and adults!

Desserts:
Cupcakes, I ordered out for these and threw on my own cake toppers
Smash Cake, I followed this recipe, and just tripled it
“Crown” sugar cookies with royal icing: cookie cutter from HERE (also my first time every using royal icing, don’t judge! ;P )
S’mores on a stick (for the base, I had my husband drill holes into a piece of wood we found outside, super quick!)
Candy Apples, wrapped in cellophane bags and tied off with burlap string..these were the party favors for everyone 🙂
