Jerk Turkey Burgers, topped with Tangy, Creamy Feta, and a Cool, Crisp, Refreshing, Mango-Apple Cole Slaw, are loaded with flavors, textures, and are a healthy, easy meal!
Something I hardly ever do..take my makeup off before I go to bed. I can hear the silent gasps coming from all of you. I know, I know. I have a million excuses, but none of them realllly matter, right?
Everything I read, everywhere, say it’s the biggest faux pas.. but here’s the thing, not to be all snooty, but I’ve never had any issues with my skin. I’ve always been incredibly lucky. I’ve never had acne, or an oily face, or a dry face, or any issues at all. So I kind of got lazy about it.
I know it has more to do than good or bad skin, like age and wrinkles and the future of my face, and aging and all that, buuuut that still doesn’t help my exhaustion before bed.
Honestly, sometimes by the time I’m ready to lay my head down, I have to muster up all the energy just to brush my teeth every night, let alone wash, scrub and moisturize my face. Plus I looooaaathe removing my mascara..what a messy, annoying process.
The sad part of all of this is, that on the nights that I actually do take it all off, they’re few and far between, I actually feel so much better. Even when I wake up, my skin feels like it’s breathing and clean! What a concept, I know.
Apparently it’s not enough motivation to keep removing it all every night though.
I know that makeup has nothing to do with this incredible burger, but I love makeup and clothes. It’s another huge passion of mine, so sometimes I like talking about it. Okay.
This Jerk Turkey Burger is full of flavor, texture, and is pretty healthy! The ground turkey is seasoned with lots of jerk seasoning and some fresh apple to keep it moist. Then the burger is cooked and smeared with a creamy feta, and topped with a crunchy, tangy, mango-apple slaw!
I love the slaw on this burger..it’s complete perfection. I made a second batch and ate it all week as a snack or as a side to another meal. It has so much flavor and crunch!
The combination of all of these things with this jerk burger is over the top! You won’t be disappointed.

- 1" fresh ginger root, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- pinch of salt and pepper
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 4 ounces freshly crumbled feta
- salt and pepper
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons jerk seasoning
- 1/2 green apple, grated
- 1 Tablespoon finely minced scallions
- 1/4 cup panko
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- Cooking Spray
- 4 Whole Wheat Buns
Directions
- In a large bowl, add the cabbage, apple, carrot, and mango.
- In a small bowl, mix together the yogurt, honey, vinegar, lime juice, ginger, nutmeg, cayenne, salt and pepper.
- Once well combined, pour the yogurt blend over the cabbage mix. Toss together until well coated. Stick in the fridge for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours before serving.
- Using a fork, mash the crumbled feta fairly well into the greek yogurt, add the salt and pepper and mix together. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, add the ground turkey, jerk seasoning, grated apple, scallions, panko, salt and pepper.
- Using your hands, mix well together to evenly distribute all the ingredients.
- When ready, heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with cooking spray.
- Form the turkey blend into four even sized patties, being sure to form the edges, with your thumbs, so there aren't cracks in your patties.
- Place in the grill pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until cooked all the way through.
- Toast your buns if desired and place burger patty on the bun. Smear with the creamy feta, and top with the mango slaw. Totally up to you how much you add, we loved it with bug heaps, and even ate a little bit on the side! Enjoy!
