Happy Monday! Can you believe Easter is this weekend? This year is flyiiiing. It doesn’t help that Easter is incredibly early this year too. Our weekends are always so filled and busy that they go by in the blink of an eye. This past weekend was crazy busy, but we took some time yesterday to throw together this quick snack mix!
I have to be honest, I have yet to do any easter crafts with my kiddos…#momfail. You add a third baby in there and everything that used to be easy breezy and simple, suddenly takes some planning. So I have a few things to do with them this week when the babe is napping and I can’t wait! They’re finally at the perfect age to begin dying easter eggs!
My middle son, loooooooves to be in the kitchen cooking. No matter what I’m doing, if he hears a cabinet door slam or glass clink, he comes running and hops right up to ask a million questions about it, help measure, pour, stir, whatever. And you guys, I LOVE IT! Admittedly, there are moments where it can be frustrating because its extra messy, can take a bit longer than if I was doing it solo, etc, but I absolutely love that he takes an interest in cooking, that he wants to learn everything about it, and hes become such a huge help now!
We made this incredibly addicting easter snack mix yesterday, and the entire bowl is almost gone. (If you follow me on snapchat {alaina588} than you know it was mostly me late last night…) There are plenty of versions of this out there, but this is our favorite! You’ve got the sweet, the salty pretzles, the white chocolate, the darker chocolate m&m’s, bunny shaped marshmallows, and a whole lot of crunch!
Throw this tasty snack together with your kids, or just for yourself, and I dare you to even try to keep your hands out! 😉 Check out the recipe at the bottom of the post!
An addicting sweet and salty, easter bunny snack mix!
Ingredients
- 12 ounces melting chocolate (I used vanilla flavored Candiquick)
- 4 cups chex cereal
- 2 cups honey nut cheerios (regular cheerios work too!)
- 1 cup mini pretzels
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 11 ounce bag pastel colored m&m's
- 1 cup bunny shaped marshmallows
- Optional:
- 2-4 TB sprinkles
- 1 cup shredded coconut
Directions
- Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring as you go, until fully melted. Cool Slightly
- In a large bowl, mix together the chex cereal, cheerios, and pretzels. Fold in the melted chocolate, being sure to cover everything.
- Sprinkle in the powdered sugar fairly quickly, you don't want to the chocolate to harden before the sugar has a chance to stick!
- Fold in the m&m's, marshmallows, sprinkles, and coconut.
- Enjoy!
