Dress for your Favorite Team

Football Sunday is basically a religion in this house, and the Patriots games are our Church. My husband has always been a die-hard Pat’s fan, (even back when they were terrible), and as a matter of fact, our very first date was hanging out on his couch watching the Patriots game! (Don’t worry, he took me out on a real date very shortly after!)

But since the first day we met, Football Sundays have always been an event. We look forward to it all year, start the countdown about midsummer to the first pre-season game, and prepare for a season of football parties every Sunday. From the food, to the friends, to the drinks, to the fashion…it is one of the most fun parts of our week!

Over time, how we view the games has morphed, I mean, you can’t really take kids to the bar. (Well I suppose you coulllld, but then you’re that mom.. “You have a baby, in a bar” <—name that movie!) But getting dressed and representing our favorite team is never an option!

My husband has quite a few jerseys he sports, last season he had on an old school Bledsoe jersey that he was convinced was a good luck charm, the one game he didn’t have it on, they were losing going into halftime, he ran up and put it on, and they came back to win in the second half, soo maybe he was on to something.

Even my kids are usually all decked out in New England gear, and it’s one of the most common gifts that get sent to us, clearly we’re huge fans in this house! The Playoffs are coming up, and with the Patriot’s being 10-1, they’re sure to be there!

We’re gearing up for it by stocking up on some of our favorite gear from the NFL shop! (I just placed another order on cyber monday for some goodies for my husband for Christmas…hopefully he isn’t reading this!) And I’m loving it all right along with them in my red, white, and blue!

This sweatshirt is sooo soft, and warm, and I love that it hits just off the shoulder, and paired with a skirt it adds a little sexiness to football! And if you know me, you know I’m a huge fan of hats, so you just can’t go wrong with a team ball cap and a pair of sneakers to keep it casual.

Jeans and a t-shirt are fail-proof and is my classic ‘momiform’, a daily go-to for sure! Dress it up with a cardigan or blazer, booties if you’ve got them, sneakers for chasing around the littles, and you’ll look put together and stylish!
