What is the most favorite part of your day? I have three, and thankfully they’re all spread out, so most days are pretty good days 🙂
First thing in the morning when I wake up, especially in the Summer. It’s warm, but the air has a comfortable, crisp chill in it. Since we’re just getting up, everyone is so happy and refreshed. My kids eat breakfast beside me while I sip on my coffee. Sometimes hot coffee, but these days, with the warm Sun, more often than not, it’s Iced. And there is nothing better!
Secondly, I love the part of the night, where my kids are in bed, and its just my husband and I for 3-4 hours. Don’t take it wrong, I love every single second with my kids, but at the end of the day, it’s nice to get some quiet time. Our kids go to bed between 7-7:30 every night, always. It’s one thing we started from the day they were born, and I’ll be forever grateful.
I hear about babies and kids who are still up at 9-10pm, and I just don’t know how parents do it. Our time at night, just the two of us, is rejuvenating and peaceful, we get to catch up with each other. I believe that that time alone, makes me a better parent. We’re all still people after all, not just “Mom” and “Dad”…we have our names too 🙂
And thirdly, I love the middle of the day, or mid-afternoon, depending on what kind of day I’m having, when the shade hits my favorite spot, and I just stop what I’m doing, grab a drink, and a book, and just sit and read for 30 minutes to an hour. Depending what my kids will allow, usually they’re in the giant sandbox, or spraying the hose around. Sometimes my older son, just sits with me and chills. But it’s always relaxing.
I grab anything from fruit water, sometimes it’s wine!, but it’s usually an Iced Coffee. It is THE best afternoon pick-me-up! I look forward to it! I’m a huge frappuccino fan, if my waistline didn’t hate me for it, I’d drive the two miles down the road to the coffee shop and load up. However, I found an even better alternative!
Not only is it better for my bank account, (& waistline!), but it tastes totally fantastic. Just like my favorite coffee shop frapp, and I can make it however I please! My favorite is the Caramel Macchiato flavor, always has been, probably always will be. I love it just over ice, or blended up into a blissful treat! If I think ahead of time, I freeze some of the Iced Coffee into cubes, so when I blend it up, it’s extra creamy, and doesn’t get watered down by all ice. Sometimes I’ll add a little caramel syrup and a dollop of whipped cream, maybe chocolate syrup, and a few pieces of chopped chocolate..the combinations are endless!
Between the shot of caffeine and the little add-ins I’ve decided on that day, it boosts my afternoon up completely! International Delight Iced Coffee is a permanent staple in my fridge..I’m thinking I’m going to make Ice Cream out of it next!
To make the above Frappuccino, I just blended together one cup of International Delights Iced Coffee with crushed ice and a few of the Iced Coffee Ice Cubes. Drizzled a little chocolate syrup into the cup, poured, and topped with caramel stuffed dark chocolate! It was totally heavenly!
