These autumn turkey burgers loaded with sweet apples, crisp bacon, creamy fontina, and topped with a spicy honey drizzle, will knock your socks off!
We’re officially into the holiday season! It’s my most favorite time of year! Usually we don’t decorate for christmas until after thanksgiving, but I’m itching for it big time this year and am slowly starting to do it this week. (though I will wait to put up our tree until thanksgiving weekend, I’m not totally crazy, plus it’s always been tradition!)
I’m so ready for christmas music, all the movies, the spirit, eggnog, sugar cookies, shopping, (I actually started that one a couple months ago, but it’s a whole different atmosphere at the malls now!) and everything else that comes along with the holidays! <3
This year we started a ‘give thanks’ tree I think that my kids, well at least my oldest, is finally old enough to understand it, and if not, the tree and the purpose behind it will help them understand it better. And it doesn’t hurt my husband and I either..it’s such a great thing leading up to christmas!
Now that the weather has cooled off quite a bit, we’re all about the warm cozy meals, and that doesn’t just mean pastas and soups! This turkey burger is warmed with cumin, which I wasn’t sure would work here, but it more than works, it pulls all the flavors together and really makes the burgers pop! There is shredded apple within the burger, then topped with even more sweet apple slices, along with crisp bacon, melty cheese, and drizzled with a spicy honey.
This burger is completely sweet & salty perfection. It has so much flavor, is quick to whip up, less thank 30 minutes, which makes it an ideal weeknight meal, especially during this busy and fun-filled season, and is a healthy option, (using whole wheat buns is even better!)
Impress your family or friends with this tasty autumn turkey burger! Enjoy!
