My husband hates seafood. Of all kinds. There isn’t one piece of it that he’ll touch. And he b**ches up a storm when I cook it in the house! I don’t get it, how someone from New England, with some of the freshest seafood there is, could hate it so darn much.

His dad used to be a fisherman..like the big fish, lobster kind. So he claims that he just ate it far to much as a kid, as in almost every night, so after awhile it got to be to much and he grew to highly dislike it. Which led to full on hate. It makes zero sense to me.

I on the other hand have a deep love for it. I love alll kinds. If it was up to me, I’d eat seafood almost every night, and could totally give up chicken. Don’t get me wrong, I love all things chicken, but I’m a seafood lover-through and through.

So every once in a great while, when I feel like annoying my husband 😉 I cook myself up a little seafood. This time, it just so happened to be shrimp. And let me say, I’m pretty happy that I was in the mood to drive him nuts!

These tacos are fantastic. So spicy, yet so refreshing. The heat from the shrimp, and the cool creaminess from the avocado cream sauce is such a perfect combination of tasty. The lettuce and cabbage add a good crunch in there, and these tacos are all around perfect. For lunch or dinner. I’d eat them anytime!

Oh my gosh, it’s like sacrilegious to not like seafood! I, also, am borderline obsessed with seafood of all kinds – especially shrimp. These look amazing and the avocado sounds like the perfect compliment!

I made these over the weekend and they were fabulous. I’m always a little leary of making new recipes for my husband. He is a very good cook so it’s a little intimidating. He loved this recipe. I did have a bit of a hard time with the avacado sauce, mine didn’t get “saucy” it was a little thick, but we just spooned it on. I had leftovers for lunch today. Is there any place to get the nutritional information from?

As far as nutritional information goes, you could try using the ‘recipe analyzer’ tool on calorie count, other than that, I’m not really sure where to find it. Hope this helps!

Wow! This is an amazing dish. Yes it’s spicy but we love spice! The flavor is amazing. The avocado sauce was a bit hard to blend as it was thick so I added a bit of water to get it going in the blender. My husband asked when I could make it again so I know it’s a keeper!

I made the sauce and it didn’t get saucy. Should I add more liquids?

    January 19, 2015 at 3:30 pm
    • Reply Alaina

yeah, sometimes with sauces, you do have to add additional liquid to thin it out and reach your desired consistency. hope this helped!

I made these on Saturday!! I’m not an avocado fan so I subbed plain greek yogurt. It was fantastic! I also added spicy pico de gallo from the supermarket. Thank you for inspiring my weekend dinner!!
