Fire Roasted Tomato Lime Salsa

Salsa is a staple. There’s a million ways to make it and everyone loves it differently. I love all different kinds! Salsa Verde, Pico de Gallo, chunky, spicy, mild, southwestern etc etc etc!! Salsas can be served up so many different ways, from using it as a topping on tacos to just dunking in your chips and going at it..I can easily demolish a bowl on my own!

This salsa is SO refreshing, so flavorful, and so delicious! It has the perfect amount of spice for my taste buds..just a  little kick! You can always add more jalapeno or cayenne if you really want to kick it up a notch…I like to still have my tongue when I’m done! 😛

Salsa reminds me of football Sunday, which I’m desperately missing, and summertime..which cannot get here quick enough!! This Fire Roasted Tomato and Lime Salsa is the perfect addition to any summer BBQ or last minute get together..its always good to have something out when you have people over. It literally took me 10 minutes to throw together and made quite an abundance! Just toss everything in your food processor and pulse until you reach your desired consistency! Easy, quick, and produces DELICIOUS results!

At first bite, there is just a hint of lime, the cilantro is refreshing, and then as you’re swallowing is when the heat kicks in! Its my favorite classical salsa ever! I make this recipe, eat a bowl of it, and still have a FULL mason jar filled in my fridge of it! Make this, pin it, save it…you’ll want this all summer long!!

Fire Roasted Tomato Lime Salsa

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4 cups

Fire Roasted Tomato Lime Salsa


  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can Fire Roasted tomatoes
  • 2 vine ripened tomatoes, quartered
  • 1 (4 ounce) can fire roasted green chiles
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 3 Tablespoons minced garlic
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/2 Jalapeno, seeded and chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne


  1. Add all ingredients to the food processor and pulse until you reach your desired consistency!
  2. Start dunking!! 🙂

    I make a salsa like this but I hadn’t thought of combining fresh and the fire roasted canned tomatoes. Sounds delicious.

    I grew up in Texas and Oklahoma, and I can say that this is a really good salsa! I made a double recipe and processed one half, then hand chopped the other half and drained off the excess juice, then mixed them together for a bit of a better all around consistency. Thanks for this.

    This was AMAZING! I used regular canned tomatoes and omitted the fresh tomatoes and green chilies (because I didn’t have any!) and it turned out perfect. Thank you!!
